Condominium Conversions

Foresight Land Surveying provides Condominium Conversion Land Surveying Services to the Bay Area and specializes in San Francisco Condominium Conversions. Condominium Conversions require a Tentative Parcel Map, Final Parcel Map, and Interior Condominium Plans.

The Tentative Parcel Map is the first step in the mapping process and is included in the initial application package. The Tentative Map will typically show the building footprint, key site elevations, the subject property boundary, and any other items listed in the SF DPW Tentative Map Checklist.

The next step in the mapping process is the Parcel Map. The Parcel Map shows the property that is being subdivided. The Parcel Map is also the instrument that identifies the newly created parcels. Part of the process involves a Boundary Survey of the property. Boundary surveys in San Francisco are very complex and unlike anywhere else in the country. Our chief surveyor has performed hundreds of San Francisco Boundary Surveys and has extensive knowledge of all of the different San Francisco neighborhoods.

The final step in the mapping process is the preparation of the interior Condominium Plan. This plan shows the interior unit space of each unit along with any exclusive use areas, and common areas. The Condominium Plans are attached to the CC&R’s and recorded.

During our proposal process we will look at records in your area and the complexity of your project and alert you to any known surveying related issues.

We maintain an excellent working relationship with the staff at SF DPW, and we will closely monitor your project from the initial Tentative Map submittal to the Final recording of the Parcel Map. We also work closely with local Title Companies and Attorneys associated with Condominium development projects.
